TEMPERANCE LECTURE.
On Thursday evening last Mr E. H. Buckingham delivered a very interesting temperance lecture in the Congregational Church, under the presidency of the Rev. S. Griffiths. Mr Buckingham has thoroughly mastered the several aspects of the temperance question, and as he ha 3 the happy faculty of being able to express views in a clear and convincing manner, he was easily able to arrest and retain the attention of his audience and to elicit their hearty approval during the whole of his lecture. Indeed, he is an exceptionally gifted gentleman, for he can recite and sing as well as he can speak, and that is saying much.
