TE KUITI DEBATING SOCIETY.
BREACH OF PROMISE CASE. The much-talked-of breach of promise case promoted by the Te Kuiti Debating Society, is to be opened in the Town Hall to-morrow evening, and the public will have tfce'opportunity of deciding as to the merits of the contending parties. In view of the number of witnesses atid the importance of the case, it i 3 probable the hearing will extend over more than one sitting and an adjournment will be made until Friday evening. During the adjournment the jurors will be kept locked up. Thid course has been deemed necessary by the judge in view of the amount of party feeling created in the town. .In consequence of Mr Sharpies bsing unable to conduct the plaintiff's case the brief has been undertaken by Mr Leary, a distinguished Irish barrister, while the defendant will be represented by Mr Howarth.
