COMMERCIAL.
FAT STOCK SALES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Ltd., report:— At the Westfield Yardß, on Wednesday, fat stores were yarded in less numbers than usual, and improved in prices on last week. No heavyweights were yarded. Best oxen sold to 31s per 1001b, others 27s to 295. Cows and heifers 23s to 265. Steers sold at from £7 17s 6d to £l3 2b 6d. Cows and heifers £5 to £9 ss. Calves were penned in short supply and sold at higher rates. Heavy vealers sold at irom £4 to £5 2s 6d medium weights £2 8s to £3 3s, lighter 30a to £2 ss, others 20s to 30s, smaller and fresh dropped 3s to ss. Sheep were also yarded in less numbers than usual, and sold at higher rates, advancing from ?.s to 3ss per head on last week's quotations. Best wethers sold at from 20s 6d to 26s 6d, others 15s 9d to 19s; heavy ewes 18s to 20s 9d, others 13s 6d to 17s. Hoggets: Heavy wethers sold at from 15s 6d to 19s 9d, others 7s Gd to 12s 9d. Pigs were yarded in average numbers, and again sold at high rates. Baconers £3 10s to £5 3s, large porkers £2 15s to £3 6s. porkers £2 2s to £2 12s, slips 26s to 38s, weanors 5s 6d to 10s. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows: —A fair yarding of bullocks and sheep came forward, and sold at the following prices:—Prime bullocks £ll 2s 6d to £ll 7s 6d, lighter £7 to £7 7s, light £8 12s 6d to £9 12s 6d, prime wethers. 21s, medium wethers 19s, good ewes 17s 4d, medium ewes 16s to 16s 6d, prime lambs 14s 3d.
