TE KUITI DEBATING SOCIETY.

The Parliamentary session in conI nection with the Te Kuiti Debating Society will be continued to-morrow evening in the Municipal Hall. The subjects for the evening will be the Public Works Statement, and the Amendment to the Land and Income Assessment Act, dealing with the graduated land tax, which is to be introduced by the Prime Minister. The measures form portion of the progressive and far - reaching legislation which was foreshadowed in the Governor's Speech. The whole of the matter dealt with in the Public Works Statement, and the Graduated Land Tax Bill is merely the preliminary to a very comprehensive Land Act, which is to place the whole of the land legislation on a sound basis, and promote the settlement of every available acre of land in the Dominion. The Land Bill is now in course of construction, and will be introduced by the Minister of Land 3 at the earliest possible opportunity.
