At the Science Congresa, Dr RamBay Smith, of Adelaide, delivered a paper on the anthropological section. He dealt with inbreeding, marriage, and military training. In relation to the Australian race, evidence existed that changes due to altered environment had already occurred. Among the white people of Australia early unions were desirable, especially among professional people. This implied fair salaries and State pension for widowed mothers.
The Congress resolved that as the British Science Congresss is to be held in Australia in August, 1914, the next Australasian Congress shall be held at Hobart in 1916, and at Wellington subsequently.
