A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR SHOW. JUDGES AND STEWARDS APPOINTED. ) . With the resumption of business after the holidays the officials of the King Country Central A. and P. Association have gdt energetically to work and are leaving nothing undone to ensure the success of the second annual show which takes place on February 19th and 20th. Arrangements are well in hand in all departments, and it remains for the settlers to support the efforts of the o'licials in every manner possibie. It is to be hoped the local people will bsar in mind that the success of a show largely depends up u i> th 3 interest displayed by them. In connection with last show entries were received from many exhibitors in order to give the association a start with the opening function. In the present instance every single entry that it- is possible to obtain is of great assistance, and the local people must strain every effort to fill the catalogue satisfactorily. The fact that a two-day show has been decided upon in the second year of the association's existence indicates that the executive is endeavouring to further the interests of the district in every possible manner. . Much depends upon the efforts of the general committee in canvassing for entries, but the settlers can assist by forwarding entries voluntarily and by inducing their neighbours to do the same. In order to render the driving of stock to and from the show as easy as possible it; is intended to get the settlers in the , various districts to co-operate and have the stock driven together. By this means the task of the settlers with sfmall lots of sheep will be rendered easier, and the inducement to those who only have a small entry will be greater. A meeting of the executive was bejel yesterday, in the office of Mr L. C. Harton, secretary, when various matters of detail were discussed. It was decided to secure the services of the town band for the show. Spaces for business exhibits were arranged. The following judges were appointed: . Draughts, Mr J. Wall; bloodstock and- hacks, Mr A. R. Harris; carriage and harness horses, Mr J. Campion; fat Btock, Mr J. C. Pottsl dairy stock, Mr Standen; shorthorns, Mr J. G. Rutherford; sheep, Mr J. It is intended to request permission from the County Council to close the road from the Te Kumi railway station to the junction of the main Te Kumi road. If this is granted gates will be placed on the Te Kumi bridge and at the end of the road. This should greatly facilitate the work of the gatekeepers and prevent a block at the entrance. The bachelors.of the district have presented a trophy for a ladies' hunting competition, iri which the winner in Class 11 will be debarred from competing. A general committee meeting of the association is to be held on Wednesday next, when it is expected all the country members of the committee will be present.
