CRICKET.
THE TE KUITI CLUB. The local cricketers have at last bestirred thmeselves and have decided to open the season on Thursday next. A considerable amount of work has been done on the wicket during the week, and the playing pitch should be in excellent order by the time fixed for opening the season. Numerous enquiries are, being received for matches-, and there should be no lack of games during the season. Return visits are due to Ohura and Taumarunui, and these will be arranged as soon as posible. Mangapehi, Marokopa, Waitomo and other centres are all anxious to try conclusions with Te Kuiti, and a busy season is promised. The opening game of the season will be the time-honoured Married V. Single, which should produce a very interesting cuntest. AH members and intending members of the club are requested to attend the meeting called for Tuesday evening at the Chronicle office. There is a considerable amount of business to be dealt with, and a full attendance is earnestly requested.
