TE KUITI'S NEW THEATRE.

THE OPENING CEREMONY. ' TOWN BAND BENEFIT. AN ENTERPRISING COMPANY. The new Empress Theatre, which has been erected in Rora street;, To Kuiti, by the King Country Picture Company, is to be opened on Saturday evening. The opening ceremony will be performed by Mr C. K. Wilson, M.P., and Mr E. H. Hardy, Mayor, and the intiial performance is to bo given in aid of the Town Band. The new theatre, which is in brick, was designed by Mr James, architect, and is in every respect a credit to the town. The interior is decorated in excellent taste and the arrangements for the convenience of the audience are complete in every respect. The theatre has seating accommodation for four hundred and the acpacity of the building is sure to be taxed to the utmost at the initial performance.

It is the intention of the management to give a performance each night of the week, and a matinee for the children on Saturday afternoons. The prices, which are advertised in another column, are sure to appeal to the public, and as arrangements have been made for a supply of the best and highest class films procurable, there is little doubt as to the success of the new local undertaking. Further reference to the enterprise will be made in next issue.
