TE AHUROA ROAD GRANT.

MINISTERIAL PRONOUNCEMENT. NO MISTAKE MADE. The following letter from the Minister of Public Works to Mr C. K. Wilson, member for the district, with respect to the grant for Te Ahuroa road, Bhould set at rest all doubts as to the matter: — "I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of October 22nd, forwarding schedule of works for which you desire provisiun made on the Supplementary Estimates. In reply I have to Btate that I have duly noted your report, and shall be giad to give same my careful consideration when the Supplementary Estimates are being compiled. " With reference to the last item, however, in connection with which I have received telegrams and petitions which I sent on to you, and wherein it is stated that a vote of £I2OO, which it was claimed was wrongly allocated as it should have been provided for the Rangitoto road, I presume this refers to the Ahuroa road in respect to which a vote for £I2OO was taken on the Estimates, and assuming this to be correct, I have to point out that the provision of this amount was not a mistake, as the road in question gives access to a block of 21,000 acres of Grown land which is now under survey and part of which will shortly be opened for selection."
