WHEN YOU GO TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED.

"Don't wait until the afternoon if you are going to get the best results from a photograph. Go early in the day.

Don't expect to get a photograph that will please if you are fatigued when sitting. Don't hurry. Haste makes the face red, and red comes out dark in a picture, a result not desirable where complexion is concerned. Don't get out of temper, a condition which brings lines to the face and spoils the expression. Don't choose a day when the sunshine is too bright, or every imperfection will be more strongly developed. A well-lighted, cloudy day is best. Don't wear dead w T hite. Cream white is prettier and more effective; indeed, the bast, colour for a dress. Don't wear black. It gives a hard, dense tone.

Don't wear tan or yellow or lavender. All of them take badly. Grey ta\"es white, and sky blue generally comes out white.

Don't wear spectacles or eyeglasses. They do not invariably prove unbecoming in real life, but they spoil a photograph effectually. Don't wear a violent contrast, such as a skirt of one colour and • a blouse of another, and avoid stripes, which produce a curious zebra-like effect. The plain colours are best ; draperies are preferable to frills ; nothing should mar the shoulder liie, and if your figure is not good, then be content with "head and shoulders" merely. ; Don't wear a spotted veil on any account, and if you do wear a plain net-one don't turn it half-way up ! * Don't forget to hold something lightly between your fingers if your hands are to be photographed, so that a pretty rounded effect may be obtained.
