THE WAITEWHENA RAILWAY.

MEETING AT ARIA. Own Correspondent. Aria, Tuesday. A meeting of those interested in the railway connection of Mangaroa with the Main Trunk was held in the Aria Hall on Friday last. Considering the state of the weather the meeting was well attended. The secretary reported that the petition had been signed exceedingly well. The meeting, by ballot, elected Messrs Woof and Barnett to proceed to Wellington to interview the Minister. A subscription list to cover expenses was opened and subscribed to by all present. The report of the saleyards sub-committee was received, and it was decided to empower them to gather full particulars of the Ngatoa block of 80 acres.
