PIO PIO.

Own Correspondent. The "tin town" has been going ahead of late. The new store and fruit shop, newly open to business by Mr McKay, is a decided advance, and a fine display of fruit is apt to make one think of warmer climes, or that we are in the vicinity of the Garden or Orchard of Eden. The enterprising baker has at last begun baking, and, I believe, is doing good business in bread and small goons, in conjunction with tea rooms, which, 1 think, will be much appreciated by the travelling public.

The Town Hall directors evidently believe in making hay while the rain pours, which it seems to like doing. 1 hear the latest attraction is a waltzing competition, which, if fine, will no doubt be a big draw.
