SETTLING THE LAND.
THE WHATITOKARUA BLOCK. Land settlement in the King Country is proceeding steadily, and on September 24th, twenty eight sections of the Whatitokarua block, situated between Tangitu and Taringamutu will be open from application. In respect to eight of the sections preference is given to landless married applicants with families. In the remainder landless applicants are given preference. The sections range in size from 200 to 800 acres. They lie on the southside of the Ohura road between Matiere and Ongarue and extend southwards towards Te Koura and Taringamutu. The country is chiefly bush and the land is of goo.l quality. App'ications will be received at the New Plymouth Land office up to 4 p.m. on September 24th.
