TE KUITI DEBATING SOCIETY.

The usual meeting of the Parliamentary Union under the auspices of the Te Kuiti Debating Society was held on Thursday evening. There was a large attendance and both parties in the House were well represented. The first portion of the evening was devoted to debating the Governor's Speech, while later, a Labour Bill, introduced by the Prime Minister (the Hon. C. F. Turner) was discussed. Thß measure which was framed to bring lasting place to the industrial world, provoked free discussion, the author of the Bill being the recipient of many congratulations lor the able, and courageous mannar in which such an important subject had been handled. The Bill was passed on the voices. At the conclusion of the sitting the House was entertained at supper by the Minister for Native Affairs, Mr Smith.
