AMUSEMENTS.

CURLES' PICTURES. Last Wednesday evening at the Rink the weekly series of films were screened. A fair number attended and picture lovers who missed the evening must regret the fact as a magnificent pictucre, "The Adventures of Ulysses," was shown and received well merited applause. The whole programme submitted was of a highly interesting character and screened with a clearness that was very acceptable. Good music was supplied by Mr Christian. "Saved by Her Lion," the greatest sensational animal picture of the year will be shown for the first time at the Alexandra Rink to-night. This subject is a sister picture to "Captain Kate," but superior in every way. A special comedy is "The Yarn of the Nancy Bell." This is a picture arrangement of Gilbert's of Gilbert's humoroa verses, "Oh, I am a Cook and a Captain Bold," etc. This item is extremely funny. Other fine dramas are "The Hobo," "The Prospector's Legacy" and "The Lesser Evil." The scenics, Gazette and Graphic keep one in touch with recent happenings in the world. There are some good healthy comics, especially "He Wanted to Propose—But."

HAYWARD'S PICTURES. The Hayward Picture Enterprise has been termed the "Window of the World," and an evening spent at any one of the firm's entertainments will prove that it can justly lay claim to the name it has won. On Monday evening next at the Town Hall an other of their most entertaining series will be screened including a 3000Tfeet star drama entitled "The Great Moment," which includes a remarkable fire scene and rescue, details of which appear in our advertising columns to-day, and patrons may look forward to a pleasant evening's entertainment.
