TE KUITI HOSPITAL FUND.
FOOTBALL MATCH AND BALL
SUCCESSFUL FUNCTIONS
With the object of creating interest in the formation of a hospital for Te Kuiti the local Northern Union Foot-
hall Club through their president, Mr J. B. Young, created the happy idea of arranging a fancy dress football match and procession. The enthusiasm and loyal support of the business people and citizens generally, removed the idea from a pirt'sun t) a general appeal and with great success. A very large number of ladies responded to an invitation from the joint secretaries, and as a result the formation of a ladies' committee eventuated. A collecting campaign was started with the result that a sum approaching £23 has been subscribed by the ladies' committee, who also supnlied all refreshments.
.The procession left the Waitomo County Council's office at 2.30 p.m., and with the assistance of the United Ancient Order of Druids and Te Kuiti Oddfellows' Lodge, both Judges in regalia, fire brigade, the School Cadets and children, and several characters in fancy costumes, a fairly long procession eventuated.
