ROADING THE DISTRICT.

<» THE MAIN ROAR SCHEME. Own Correspondent. The meeting held at Pio Pio on Friday last for the purpose of further considering the main read schema was marked by s strong desire on the part of the settlers to co-operate for the purpose of devising the best possible means of improving the roading conditions. Mr C. K. Wilson, M.P., presided, and there waa little time lost in discussion. The motion proposed by Mr Lindsay and seconded by Mr Riddle, affirming the principle of the scheme which has already been outlined in the Chronicle, was carried without dissent, and the following committee was appointed to further the scheme and reduce it to a workable proposition: Messrs S. Riddle, Wall, Boddy, Burrows, Hack, Elliott and Moore. It 13 recognised that there is ample work ahead of the committee, but with the active assistance of the member for the district and the members of the Waitomo County Council a practical scheme should be evolved and the necessary steps taken in the near future.
