FOOTBALL.

MANIAPOTO RUGBY UNION.

The executive of the above union met in the Chronicle office on Monday evening last. Mr Falwasser presided.

After discussion it was decided on the motion of Messrs Falwasser and Worthington that three selectors should be appointed in place of one — Messrs Worthington, Matthew and Rothery were appointed selectors of the representative teams. It was decided to send a rep. team to Taumarunui on Saturday next, 20th inst, to play the King Country Union.

Resolved that the return match with the Waipa Union take place on August 10th at Te Awamutu, and that the Otorohanga juniors play their return match on the same day.

The Aria club was affiliated with the Maniapoto Rugby Union. It was decided that discussion on the protest received from the Kaeaea club in the Kaeaea-Aria match, be deferred until next meeting.

Accounts as presented were passed for payment. Mr N. B. Lusk, who attended the last meeting of the South Auckland Rugby Union, presenetd his report, and wajLheartily thanked for same. The Mouth Auckland Union forfootball for competition among the schools within the boundaries of the Maniapoto Union. The secretary was instructed to write and thank the South Auckland Union for their donation.

MANIAPOTO v. KING COUNTRY,

The following have been chosen to represent the Maniapoto Union against the King Country Union at Taumarunui on Saturday next:—Killop, Coldstream, P. Turner, R. Clarke, Maber, J. Clarke, forwards, Healv and Charteris (wings), McKay, Emery, Reed, D. Gray, Mexted, N. Turner, Kite; emergencis, Williams, Hayson, and Delaney.

SOCCER

ATe Kuiti team of soccer Dlayers journeyed to Hamilton on Saturday last and played a return match with the Hamilton Wanderers at Seddon Park. After a fast and interesting game the Hamilton team won by 4 goals to 2.
