TE KUITI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

A special meeting of the Te Kuiti Borough Council was held last evening. There were present —his Worship the Mayor, and Crs Forsyth, Floyd, Young, Sumerville, Julian and Finlay. Engineer's —A report furnished uy Mr L. G. P. Spencer, engineer, on the pipe contract was read by the clerk.

Cr Forsyth said in 'fairness the report should be published. On the motion of Crs Somerville and Finlay the report was received.

A letter was received from Mr H. Hine, borough solicitor, enclosing a release of the agreement betwen Mr Spencer and the Council.

A motion to the effect that the release be executed by the Council was duly carried. Permanent Levels. A letter was received from Mr J. McPherson, offering to withdraw his tender for the work on a payment of £lo.—On the motion of Crs Finlay and Somerville it was decided to offer Mr McPherson the sum of £5.

Borough Engineer.—On the motion of Crs Finlay and Young it wa<» decided to advertise for a municipal engineer for the borough at a salary of £4OO a year.
