Tlio exports of the Dominion for the lira I; half of this month show a big increase over those of the correspond inp: period of last year. This year's figures :ire £7L'5,019, and last year's £4():?,ISL The effect of the late season on tho volume of production iB even morn strikingly shown in the figures for the year ended on Juiie 15th, and those for tho present 12 months. The export for the year ending June 15th, I!U2, wcro £19,004,771; and thoßo for the year ending June 15th, 1911, were £i5,903,912, an increase for this reason of .£100,859. It is a truer index of the volume of tho year's exports to take the year ns ending in September. For instance, tho exportß for the year ending on March 31st of this and last year show tho exports of tbiß Beason to lie at a considerable disadvantage. Kxports for the year ending March :n.d.l 912, totalled £39,036,660, and for tho year ending March 31st, 1911, they were £21,543,900, or a decline in thin year's season's figures of A",V>07,1!40, whereas this season ban actually been more prolific than the previous one.
