The position of New Zealand representative on the Trade Comißslon, rendered vacant by the resignation of Sir Joseph Ward, has been filled by the appointment of the Hon. J. R. Sinclair, M.L.C. Mr Sinclair iB at present in England. It ia rumoured in informed circles that Sir John Findlay was offered the position of commissioner on the Empirn Trade Commission in succession to Sir Joseph Ward, but declined the offer. On being questioned upon the matter by a member of the Post staff Sir John declined to make any statement.
