£IOOO DAMAGES. By Telegraph.—Press Association.— Oopyrtaibt Received June 22, 8.35 a m. Melbourne, Friday. The Clark-Norton libel case, in which Bishop Clarke sued the proprietor of Truth has been Hettled. The Judge on taking hiaseat announced that the jury would bo discharged till to-morrow. Subsequently counsel for defendant stated, after heuring the evidence of plaintiff, defendant wbb satisfied the article complained of was unjustified. He desired to apologise and withdraw it. By consent the verdict would be for £IOOO with coßts including costs of the commission engaged in for plaintiff. Judgment was entered accordingly.
