At Chicago Mr Roosevelt's aun> porters are working vigorously to prevent Mr Roosevelt holding his own Convention lest the Republican party be irrevocably split. Mr Taft's chaf.ces are now brighter. All posaible attention is being centred on the Democrats' "dark horse." Mr Bryan is creating trouble in the ranks. He objects to Judge Barker as chairman on the Democratic Convention. The latter haß a large following, and is almost certain to win.
