RECREATION GROUND.
To the Editor. Sir, —Re recreation grounds for Te Kuiti. Seeing that a movement is on foot to secure a new recreation ground, may I suggest that our local educational authorities try hard to secure the present Domain, for school enlargements and playgrounds. It will not be long before the present site will be found absolutely inadequate, and if grounds for future extension are not secured now, it will be too late to look for them by and by. We had better lay to heart the lessons taught by older towns and do our best to prepare in time for ample room for our children's educational institutions ana play grounds. It will not be long before we want room for a high school and also a technical school. I hardly like to suggest any plan of acquiring same, there are abler men at that game, but I think that our enterprising business people and others would all bear a hand and no doubt the Government would give a substantial subsidy as well. Trusting the matter will not be lost sight of.—l am, 6 tC S. THOMAS.
