The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. reports: — At Westfield yards on Wednesday fat cattle were yarded in average numbers, and sold at higher rates. Best oxen sold to 27s per 1001b; others 24s to 265; cows and heifers 20s to 23s per 1001b; steers sold at from £7 2s 6d to £l2 10s, cows and heifers £4 to £8 as. The vea! pens were well filled, and sold at late quotations. Extra heavy vealers £4 2a to £5 7s 6d, medium weights £2 2s to £3 15s, lighter 30s to 355, smaller sorts 5s to 15s. Sheep came forward in usual supply, and showed an improvement in price, although quotations are the same. Best wethers sold to 20s 6d, others lfis to 18s 9d, heavy ewes 14s to 16s, others 11b to 13s 6d. Hoggets were penned in less numbers than usual, and sold at advanced rates. Best quality 163s to 16s 3d, others 10s to 12s 6d. Pigs were yarded in less numbers and sold at latest rates. Large porkers 35s to 425, porkera 28s to 32s 6d. No baconers or weaners were yardad. | At Pukekohe yards on Monday we held a soecial dairy sale, when over 300 cows and heifers came forward and met with a ready sale throughout. Beat dairy cows close to profit sold at from £lO to £l6 ss, heifers £6 10s to £lO 10s, cows and heifers just calved £6 10s to £l2, cows and hefeirs to calve July and August £4 10s to £8 15s, others more backward £4 to £6 ss. aged and inferor sorts £2 10s to £4.

At the Pukekohe sale on Tuesday we had a usual yarding of store stock, which sold at late rates. Dairy cows sold at £4 to £8 2s 6d, 2 k> 3 year steers £3 'lss to £6 10s, yearlings £2 16s to £3 18s, 18 months heifers £3 to £3 19s, good calves 30s to 42s 6d, others 20s to 265, 88 head of beef sold at fully Westfield rates.
