AMUSEMENTS.

HAYWARDS' PICTURES

The usual Monday night's picture show was presented at the Te Kuiti Town Hall this week under new management, Messrs Hayward having taken over the Empire Company's interest. The programme presented was in every sense creditable and augurs well for the future. The hall was crowded and the audience was thoroughly appreciative. The_ new management has only to sustain the standard set on the opening night to meet with highly satisfactory support. The principal picture was entitled "The Crime and the Criminal," and the plot treats with the entirely opposite characters of two brothers. The scenes depict adventures in Africa and Australia and include a realistic shipwreck. They are all highly interesting. A host of other excellent pictures was included in the programme such as "Things are Seldom What They Seem," drama: "The Silk Industry," industrial; "Note in the Orange," comedy; "A Bogus Giant," comic; Pathe Gazette. Next Friday there will be no appearance of Hayward's Pictures, but on Monday, June 17th, a varied and attractive programme will be screened, amongst the i attractions will be a magnificent picture of New Zealand scenery and haunts of the natives. The educational films will depict "Our Soldiers in the Making" and "Boys of the Bull Dog Breed." The screening of the pathetic drama, "His Mother." stirs the maternal traits of character to its utmost, and excites the better feelings in our nature to a high pitch. The programme promises to be amongst the best yet shown in Te Kuiti. CURLE'R PICTURES. The Alexandra Skating Rink Will be the Mecca of moving picture patrons next Thursday evening, when Curie's Picture Co. screen Messrs John Fuller and Sons' well-known pictures. Popualr prices will be charged. We wish the new enterprise every success.
