MUNICIPAL BAND.
A meeting was held on Thursday last.
Rev. R. B. Gosnell Btated that, owing to a recent change in the limits of his sphere of service, he felt it would be impossible for him to act as bandmaster. The meeting having expressed regret that Rev. Gosnell could not accept the position, elected Mr McDonald bandmaster. New members were received and the allocation of instruments was proceeded with as far as possible. Votes of thanks were passed to the council for the placing on the estimates of a subsidy of £3O and to Mr E. H. Hardy for his acceptance of the presidency and subscription. Mondays and Fridays have been decided upon as suitable practice nights.
The discussion of ruleß was relegated to a band committee and after election of Mr Robinson as secretary and Mr Bartley as treasurer, the meeting Adjourned till Thursday next at 7.30 p.m.
