Matters in connection with the opening of Parliament, which takes place on Thursday night ars well in train. Some little excitmenent was caused in the local political atmosphere by the announcement early in the week that Mr Sharpies had been unable to form a Cabinet. Realising the gravity of the occasion the Governor promptly sent fur Mr Martin, leader of the Opposition, who undertook to form a Reform Party Cabinet. It is Understood that the ex-Liberal leader is to take office in the new Cabinet, which is as follows: —Prime Minister, E. Martin; Minister for Lands, R. M. Somerville; Public Works, D. Young; Defence, J. Wall; Attorney-General, J. B. Sharpies; Postmaster-General, N. B. Lusk; Education, C. F. Turner. Mr A. Scholes is to lead the Opposition party.
