TE KUITI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A meeting of Te Kuiti Borough Council was held on Monday evening. There were present his Worship the Mayor (Mr E. H. Hardy), and Crs Forsyth, Finlay, Young, Julian, Falwasser. CV Falwasser was wlecomed to the Council by the Mayor. Sanitary Reserve. —The report of the commission set up to enquire into the taking of a reserve by the Borough was received and referred to the Works Committee. Resignation of Clerk.—Mr G. Darbyshire tenderedjhis resignation as town clerk. F. J. Edgar applied for the cleaning work of the Municipal Buildings.— Referred to Works Committee. E. T. Lever applied for permission to lay small water pipes across the footpath in Rora street. Request granted. W. G. Tinkler wrote drawing attention to the bad state of Alexandra street. —Referred to Works Committee. Permanent Levels. —Mr Mcpherson's offer to perform the work at £67 was accepted. Electrical Installation. —Cr Forsyth proposed that Mr G. Irving Crookes be acquainted with what has been done with respect to the plant at Rotorua and that the engineer be instructed to go to Rotorua and report on the plant offered. Laying Water Mains. —The tender of H. Rothery for the laying of water mains in Hill street was accepted. The Mayor and Crs Young and Julian were appointed a sub-com-mittee to reduce the application for the clerkship to four.
