Frank Taylor was before the Court yesterday and was remanded for a week on a charge of assaulting and robbing Edward Olsen, a man aged 74. Olsen had been selling newspapers at the corner of Queen street and Customs streets and returned to hia room in St. Paul street. Olsen stated accused came in and said "You have got to shout," and when Olsen refused Taylor, it is alleged, caught him by the throat and threw him on to the beu and held him till he became insensible. When Olsen came to he found he nad been robbed of 25s and a watch and chain, all he had. When Taylor was arrested he had only Is on him besides a watch and chain, which Olsen identified as his.
