THE PREMIER OPTIMISTIC.
JllY TELKGRAFII.—r»KBS ASSOCIATION.! Christchurch, Thursday.
The Hon. T. Mackenzie parsed through Chriatchurch this moraing, leaving for Oamaru at midday. He will return on May 11th. Asked concerning the poltiical position, the Prime Minister expressed gratification for the reception accorded to himself and his collaogues everywhere in the North Island.
The question of a possible dissolution wbb mentioned, and the Premier replied: "If thq feeling of the country towards us is reflected by members of Parliament during the session, there is no fear of a dissolution taking place. Mr Massey is telling his friends to be ready, because he does not know what a month may bring forth; but whenever it happens, I believe Mr Masney is not the man liis friends will look to. They realise that he had his opportunity at the laßt election, but bungled the whole campaign."
