TE KUITI SGHOOL COMMITTEE.
The annual meeting of householders for the election of a School Committee was held in the Te Kuiti School on Monday evening. There was a fair attendance ; and considerable interest was manifested in the proceedings. Mr J. F. Walsh was voted to the chair.
The annual report and balance sheet were read and confirmed, the balance sheet showing a satisfactory state of finances th sum of £25 4s'9d standing to the credit of the committee. The election of a committee resulted in the following being elected out of fourteen candidates, who were nominated : Messrs Walsh (chairman), Flovd (secretary), Jane, Boddie, Steel, Robinson, Dr/Paxton ani the Rev. E. Wayne. Votes of thanks were accorded the outgoing commtitee and the teaching staff for the work accomplished during the past year. A special vote of thanks to the Rev. K. Mitchell, and regret at his retirement from the committee was passed unanimously and the secretary was instructed to convey the same to Mr Mitchell on behalf of the committee. On the motion of the Rev. A. Armstrong, seconded by Mr Edgar, it was unanimously resolved that the meeting of householders support the action of the committee in moving in the direction of having Technical and High Schools established, and that the strongest support to the movement should be. continued.
