TENNIS.

Bad weather prevented the match for the Howard Shield being played at Te Kuiti on Saturday last. This was extremely bad luck for the Kangaroa players who had made the journey from Taumarunui, and it is to be hoped another opportunity will be afforded them of playing a Shield game during the season. There was some talk of a tennis team going to Taumarunui on Monday next and playing the Rangaroa Club. With the weather we have been experiencing this season it ia impossible to predict what the conditions will be from day to day. If the journey could be made it would be some compensation for the disappointmnt of the visitors on Saturday last.
