-' The Te Kuiti Cricket Club sent an to Taumarunui on Saturday last to meet the local team. Unfortunately, the weather was showery and one or two adjournments had to be made in the' course of the game. Winning the toss Lusk, the Te Kuiti • captain, elected to bat. Wallace and J. Steel opened the innings and Wallace was bowled first ball. Martin, Owen and Lusk went in quick succession, the latter being run out through mistaking the crease. Four wickets were down for five runs when Simmons went in, and made a useful stand. Of the others Clapham (22) and Steel (51 not out) did best the innings closing for 106. The Taumarunui players showed good form with the bat, totalling 161 for the loss of four wickets, Ross (68) and R. Winger (6'l) being the chief contributors. It is expected that the Taumarunui team will pay a return Visit to Te Kuiti on Saturday next, when an all-day match will be played. Te Kuiti players are requested to attend for practice every evening during the week.
