TE KUITI COLLEGE BREAK-UP.
On Friday, December IfUh, Miss Brown and the pupils of Te Kuiti College entertained a number of friends on the occasion of their closing for the Christmas holidays. About forty young people were present, and after tea, merry games were enjoyed on the lawn. Later in the evening a short programme was successfully carried through by the pupils. Excellent items in musical drill were given and the care bestowed upon the chiluren in elocution was illustrated by Miss Itta Adams and Master Jack O'Brien. Though the college has only been opened one term the following pupils had progressed sufficiently to merit prizes in the subjects named Grace Old, improvment in writing; Frances Adams, progress in music; Burnell M-edonald, general diligence and a special prize tor conduct was awarded to Jack O'Bien. At 0 o'clock the children were dispersed after a memorably happy evening, three heaiiy cheers being given for Miss Brown.
