The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile AgencyC 0., L td., report:--At the Campbell Showground on Saturday we held a sale of show stock, and Jersey cows sold at from Si to 122ngs, heifers 5> to 6gns, Romney rams to OXgns. At the Westfield yards on Wednesday there was an extra large yarding of fat cattle and competition was keen, but scarcely last week's quotations were reached. Prime oxen sold to 2Ss per 1001b, others 24s to 265, cows and heit'ers 23s to 255. Steers sold at from £6 10s to £l2 15s, cows £5 to ££S 10a, hiefers £3 to £7. Veal pens were well filled and sold at late rates. No heavy weights yarded. Medium sorts £2 to £2 18s, lighter 20s to 355, small and fresh dropped 3s to 10s. Sheep were penned in average numbers and sold at fully late quotations. Ewes in wool sold at from 16s to 19s 9d, best show wether 16s to 20s, others 13s 6d to 15s, ewes 12s to 17s 6d. Spring lambs were yarded less than numbers than last week, and advanced in price fully 2s per head. Best lambs sold at from 16a" 6d o 195,. Pigs were yarded in large supply and sold at late rates. Baconers sold at from £2 12s to £4 ss, porkers £2 to £3 10s, slips ISs to 255, weaners 5s to 123 6d. HAWKES' BAY WOOL SALE. Napier, Wednesday. The first of the season's wool sales in Napier was held to-day. The sales opened with a good swing, and bidding continued briskly throughout all the catalogues. The result was that very few lots were passed in. Contrary to expectations, the prices realised did not show any material drop. Prime woois were only from J to Id lower than last year, while coarse crossbreds showed practically no change. The range of prices was as follows: Halfbred, light condition, bright, up to 10Jd ; halfbred, medium condition, up to 9fd; fine crossbred, light and bright, up tolOd; medium crossbred, up to 9£d; coarse crossbred, up to B£d; coarse and inferior crossbred, up to 7£d; pieces and bellies, from to 9d; lambs' woM up to B|d.
