OTOROHANGA BRANCH. A number of ladies of Te Kuiti W.CT. U. paid a visit tu Otorohanga last week for the purpose of inaugurating a branch of the -society there. The meeting was held in the hall, and a good number of ladies from the Otorohanga district assembled. The chair was occupied by Mrs Nicholls, who, in opening the meeting, explained the purposes for which it was convened. The Rev. A. Armstrong then gave an interesting address upon "The History and Work of the W.C.T.U.," at the close of which a roll was formed of all present willing to join and take part in the organisation. All the ladies present expressed willingness, and also spoke on behalf of others, unable to attend the meeting for various reasons.
T£s Otorohanga ladies then proceeded to eiect provisional officers until the inauguration service is held. Mr J. Cook was elected president and Mrs White secretary and treasurer, and under such guidance the union is assured of an effective future. Mrs White kindly entertained the visitors and friends at the cloae of the meeting-
