HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

A meeting of the above society was held in the Chronicle office last evening.

The correspondence was dealt with as follows: Mr W. F. Buckland wrote accepting the'position of judge for the forthcoming show.

Mr W. E. Lippiatt. of Otahuhu. the well-known Auckland rose grower, informed the society that he would bring a collection of six hundred rose blooms for exhibition. —The secretary was instructed to thank Mr Lippiatt. It was decided that Mr H. Brett be asked to send an exhibit of carnations. It was resolved that entries close with the secretary on Tuesday, December sth, and that exhibits must be deelivered at the Town Hall not later than 9.30 a.m. on day of show. The following donated special prizes :- Dr Zobsl, champion vase of aweetpecs; W. Adarnt, 13di es hat; J. E. Walker, point 3 prize (including vegetables) ; C. Stevens, best decorated table; M. C .Matthew, champion rose; A. Julian, children's section.

Resolved that the ladies' committee be asked to arrange a programme of music for afternoon, and evening. An offer from the Hamilton Horticultural Society of 48 feet of stands for flowers was accented.

The next meeting will be held in the Chronicle office on Tuesday evening next, at 7.30 o'clock.
