POLO CLUB.
A meeting of those interested in the formation of a Polo Club was held in the Council Chambers last evening. Mr E. Martin (convenor) explained the object and added that he was oT opinion that a polo club would receive good support. Mr Mostyn .Jones wan voted to the chair.
It was decided to form n club to be called the King Country Polo Club. The following othcers were elected: —President, Mr Mostyn Jones; vicepresidents, Messrs J. O'Brien, J. Cochrane, N. C. Matthew and E. O. Mackay; captain, Mr A. Cameron; vice-captain, Mr Mostyn Jones; secretary and treasurer, Mr E Martin; committee, Messrs Shannon, Price, K. Gould, Rolleston, Hunt and 11. J. Free.
The annual subscription was fixed at 10s and honorary members lis.
The question of affiliation with the South Auckland Polo Club was left in the hands of the committee.
The opening day was fixed for Saturday, November 18th. The newly-formed club wishes it to be thoroughly understood that for the present if is not tho intention of members to go in for expensive ponies or training, tho nmin object being to get the spon started and arouse enthusiasm.
