FOOTBALL.
MANIAPOTO RUGBY UNION
A meeting of the above Union was held in the "Chronicle" office last evning. Mr N. B. Lusk occupied the chair. A letter received from the New Zealand Union with regard to the disqualification of a local player requesting that the player in question send a statement in writing showing why he should not be disqualified. It was resolved that the Te Kuiti Club be allowed the protest entered against the Tanehopuwai Club and that the match be awarded to Te Kuiti.
Resolved that the rules as drawn up I by the sub-committee be adopted as the rules of the Union, and that a vote of thanks be passed to the subcommittee for drafting the rule 3. The Otorohanga ground was drawn as the ground on wtiich the Otoro-hanga-Te Kuiti final match be played, the date fixed being the 9th September. It was resolved that the charge at the gate be Is. Resolved, that the financial statement received from the manager o£ the touring team be received. Resolve i, that a letter be forwarded to Mr Scholes, the manager, thanking him for the most satisfactory manner in which he carried out the duties of manager throughout the tour.
Rsolvecl, that a representative Maniapoto team play the King Country at Taumarunui on Saturday, September 2nd. A junior team will also be sent if possible. The teams will leave Te Kuiti by the eleven train on Saturday morning. Resolved, that permission be given to the Te Kuiti seniors to play a friendly game with the Mangapeehi Club, also to the Otorohanga juniors to play the Ohaupo juniors.
