The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co. report: — At Ohaupo on July 11th, we had an entry uf 631 cattle, chiefly calves and yearlings. Heavy fat cows made £7 7s fid, fresh 2 year steers off turnips £4 15s, 18 month steers £3 15s, choice yearlings £3 4s, good calves £2 6s to £2 12s, medium sorts 36s to 40s. small and weak calves 25s to 28s, 100 good hoggets lis 9d. At Hamilton borough saleyards, on July 12th we held our annual dairy stock sale, when 578 dairy cows and heifprs were yarded. For choice cows and heifers perceptably forward in calf and in good condition there was good competition, and fair prices were obtained; those in backward condition and late calvers were not required. Good framed cows, sound, and in good order made £6 15s to £9, backward and doubtful £3 10s to £4 ss, very choice Jersey cross heifers well grown £7 10s to £9, similar bred heifers but a year younger £5 15s to £7, choice Shorthorn heifers well grown £6 15s to £8 ss, well grown but backward sorts £5 53 to £6, small and poor heifers £3 10s to £4 10s. The entry was a little beyond requiements; still 405 were sold.
At Walton, on July 13th, we held a clearing sale on behalf of Mr R. Butler, and have to reDort a very good sale. There was a keen competition, and everything made full value. Two tooth ewes in lamb sold at 13s Pd to 14s 9tl, 6 tooth ewes 16s, 6 and S tooth ewes 16s, full mouth ewes 13s and 13s 3d, empty ewes 10s Id, shorn hoggets 4s Bd, 2i to 3 year store steers £4 16g, heifers in calf £5 103, dairy cows £8 10s.
At Hamilton, on Thursday, 14th inst., we yarded 900 sheep and 250 head of cattle. Fat wethers made IGs to 17s 9d, smaller sheep 14s Gd, fat ewes lis 9d to 15s, ewes in lamb 15s Gd, fat hoggets 10s 9d to 13s 9d, store hoggets 6s 3d, pigs—slips 12s to £1 Is, sows 2gs to 2Jgs, fat steers £7 to 7s, extra good £8 2s 6d to £8 Gs, store cows £3 to £3 2s 6d, choice 20 month steers £3 19s to £4 4s, calves 38s to £2 7s, dairy heifers £5 ss, empty 2 year heifres £3 163 to £4 7s Gd, dairy cows £5, cows near calving £7 17s Gd to £S ss. At Morrinsville on July 14th, we had a yarding of 3107 sheep, 1160 being fat, and 364 cattle, 138 being fat, and the majority of the balance dairy cuws and heifers. There was a good inquiry for fat sheep, and practically the lot were sold, and prices were fair. Hoggets and store sheep sold well, as also did fat and store cattle. Fat wethers made 15s to 19s, store and forward wethers, 13s to 14s Gd, cull wethers 9s 6d, prime fat ewes 17s 9d, fat aged ewes, 10s 3d to 14s, good hoggets 9s 9d to 13s, cull hoggets 4s Id, G and 8 tooth ewes in lamb 14s, aged ewes in lamb 7s Gd to 10s Gd, medium fat steers £7 10s.to £S 15s, light weight steers £6 to £7 ss, prime fat heifers £7, medium fattened cows and heifers £4 15s to £5 10s, good calves and yearlings £2 to £2 12s Gd, store cows £3 5s to £3 12s Gd, choice dairy heifers £6 5s to £7 10s, others £5 to £5 15s, cows £5 10s to £6 10s.
We heid a clearing sale at Hangatiki on Friday, 14th inst, on account of 11. Finney, and have to report a successful sale. The dairy herd elicited keen competition. The 59 cows averaged £7, the best cows making £8 15s to £l3 10s, htifer3, £5 103 to £6 ss, calves £1 ss, curly Lincoln boar Gigs, slips 8s to 10s, sows £1 4s, full mouth ewes 6s 3d to 7s 3d, medium draught 25 10s. We also sold Mr Scholes' dairy herd, and these also met with keen competition, the best cows making from £6 15s to older and more backward cows £4 to £5 10s.
