The Farmers' Auctioneering Co., report:— We held a clearing aale at Rototuna on Monday last on account of Messrs Whitmore Bros., and have to report a most successful sale. The dairy herd being in tip-top order, well-known, and a good one, elicited keen bidding. 45 cows averaging £l2 per head. Two pure and one grade Holstein made £2O, a half bred Jersey £l4 10s, and the others ranged from £lO to £l3 10s, 15 choice heifers averaged £lO each, yearling heifers 3Ags to 4£gs, heifer calves 2igs to 4gs, Jersey bull £l4 14s, active medium draughts £2O to £25, cob £l7, pigs—sows £2 to £4, slips 7s 6d to 8s 6d, weaners 6s. On behalf of Mr C. Hawke, 15 dairy cows averaged £8 17s each; and on account of Mr Exton, 11 cows averaged £8 9s

At Ohaupo, on 26th, we had a yarding of 400 cattle and 350 sliorn hoggets. There was a keen demand for all classes of stock, and a clearance was made of the lot. The shorn hoggets were really good, and made 10s fid, fresh 3 year steers £5 10s to £6, well bred 21 year store steers £4 10s to £4 15s, 18 to 20 month steers up to £3 16s, good calves 40s to 455, smaller sorts 33s to 38s, Holstein heifers in calf £5 5s to £6 12s 6d Shorthorn heifers in calf —small and backward £4 12s 6d.

At the Waihou horse fair on 27th and 28th June, there was an entry of 300 horses, which met with a good demand. Heavy draughts 4 to 8 years made £3B to £45, medium draughts 3 to 6 years £33 to £39, active farm horses spring cart sorts £23 to £2, good coachersand milk cart sort 9 £l3 to £l9, useful hacks and light harness horses £ll to £l7, cobs and light hacks £8 to £l2, ponies and breeding sorts £2l 2s to £7, unbroken draughts rising 3 years £24 to £34, rising 2 year draughts £IG to £22, foals £8 to £l2.

We held our ordinary sale at Waihou on June 30th, and submitted 750 cattle and 1050 sheep. Fat sheep and cattle were dull of sale, prices being considerably lower, and the majority were passed. Fat wethers made 18* 6d, ewes in lamb lis, store wethers lis 7d, heavy and well fattened steers £9l ss, heavy fat cows £sl 5s to £6 171 6d, medium weight cows and heifers £4 15s to £5 10s, rising 3 year store steers £5, choice quality rising 2 year steers £4 7s, choice calved and yearlings £2 8s to £2 15s, good sorts £2 to £2 7s, smaller Borts 30s to 355, meaty bulls £3 10s to £5 16s, store cows £2 10s to £3, choice dairy heifers £6 10s to £8 15s, smaller sorts £5 5s to £6, dairy cow £5 5s to £6 10s.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:— We held our annual dairy cow sale at Ohaupo on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 27th and 28th. In two days we offered 386 dairy cows, and 630 heifers. There was a large attendance, and good compeiition for cows from whole dairies, also for wellgrown heifers with condition shorting well in calf, but poor and backward heiferi were not wanted and sellers will need to hold till later on. Cul cows sold at store prices, dairy cows made £7 to £lO 2s 6d, one whole herd averaged £9 256 d, best Jersey heifers £8 10s to £lO, Hoisteins up to £8 10s, Shorthorns £7 10s to £8 15s, smaller heifers £5 15s to £6 17s, more backward or small heifers £3 17s 6d to £4 15s, cull cow £3 5s to £4 10s, according to condition.
