The Borough loan poll to raise £4350 for lighting, fire brigade and municipal offices was carried by 162 votes to 10 votes. There were 7 informal votes. Some general regret is expressed at the failure of Mr Stevens to secure re-eection and it is rumoured that one of the new successful candidates may retire in favour of him.
