TE KUITI GUN CLUB.
On Thursday afternoon Te Kuiti Gun Club held their first shooting match. The elements were not exactly favourable for the sport, but despite this fact there was a good attendance. Mr P. Mora acted as referee, and Mr C. S. Brittain worked hard at the trap. The match shot was an open handicap sweepstake of 10s, and there were eight competitors. Messrs J. Pratt and F. Hammond tied for first place.
Prior to the commencement of shooting the President, Mr F. P. Moorhouse, in referring to the value of shooting, said these inanimate pigeon matches provided excellent sport. He invited those who had not already become members to do so. Te Kuiti Gun Club had become affiliated with the New Zealand Gun Club, and those that became members of the Club would be entitled to compete at any gun club match in New Zealand.
