Mangapeehi.

A team from Manunui will try conclusions with Mangaptebi players on the local court on Saturday next. The following players wili represent Mangapeehi :—Ladies Singles: Miss W. Johnson. Gent's Singles: Mr W. Buck. Ladies' Doubles: Mioses E. McCracken and M. Tomlinson. Combined Doubles: Miss W. Johnson and Mr A. E. McCracken. Gent's Doubles: Messrs D. Seymour and B. W. Havson. Mr S. Gormby, late yard manager of Messrs Ellis and Burnand's local mills, and family, have left this district for Rangataua. Before leaving Mr Gormby was the recipient of a handsome case of pipes as a token of the esteem in which he was held by the employees. The presentation was made by Mr D. Seymour, who wished Mr Gormby every success in his new sphere of life. Mr Gormby suitably responded. 011 Wednesday evening last, a general meeting of all those interested in local Rugby football was held. Mr B. W. Hayson was voted to the chair. It was decided to form the Mangapeehi Club for the sensuing season. A strong management. committee consisting of Messrs Johnson, Kingham, Hayson, Guthrie, Goodall, Charteris, with Mr F. Mayne as secretary, and Mr W. O. Irvine as treasurer. Messrs Irvine, Johnson and Mayne were chosen as a selection committee for the club. The colours of the club are to be maroon, with white collar. It was decided to confer with the secretaries of the adjacent unions re affiliation. A good deal of other general business was dealt with, and the meeting closed. A good ground has been obtained, and, with the talent available, the club should have a successful season in front of it.
