Waitewhena.
The telephone line from Mangaroa through the Waitewhena Valley is almost completed as far as Mr Bamett's property. This will mean a lot of convenience to settlers. It is hoped that the settlers in the Northern end will make a move to have their end connected. Uy having this line extended to Kaeaea direct communication with To Kuiti would be established. A concerted move is to be made reyarding the completion of the Northern end of the Waitewhena road, This road gives direct communication between the Te Kuiti district and the Ohura and only five miles are 'required to finish it. It would be a good matter for the newly-formed A. and P. Association to take up as it would be of great benefit in getting stock from the Ohura district for show purposes.
