LONDON WOOL SALES. The wool sales showed a firm tone on January 24th, with increased competition. Faulties are still weak. Americans are operating for best New Zealand crossbreds, bat the home trade is taking the bulk of the lots. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows: — We held our usual Te Uku stock S3le on 24th inst., when a full yarding of cattle, also one line of ewes and lambs, came forward. The sals throughout was brisk, most of the lines selling under the hammer, the vendors being ready to meet the purchasers, which made the sale bright and happy, and nearly ail the pens were disposed of. We quote as follows:—Ewes and lambs (all counted) 10s 2d, 18 months steers £3 10s to £3 ISs, yearling steers £3 ss, calves 30s, do. well grown 465, 2 year heifers £4 15s.
