It is estimated that the entries for the Pio Pio sheep fair, t.. be held on February 13th, will reach 8000 sheep. Miss Pine's new quarter for music, painting, drawing and infant school commences on Monday, 30th January.' The following teams of bowlers are visiting Te Awamutu on Monday to play that club: —Messrs Rouse, Stevens. King and VerreH; Messrs Darrow, Chilcott, Dransfield and Spencer; Messrs Lissaman, Edgar, Albrechtsen and Cochrane. Mrs Brown, proprietress of "Naumai House," Aria, has an advertisement in this issue. Naumai House is a new building, and is well-appointed, and the travelling public will find the comforts of a home there.

The moon being very suitable a i number of townspeople are looking forward to an enjoyable drive out to j the rising suburb. A good programme and supper is promised. Mesrss J. Gledow and Co. intend to run a daily service of coaches between Te Kuiti and Pio Pio, commencing at an early date. The coaches will leave Te Kuiti about 8 a.m. each day. Opto date livery and bait stables are to be erected, the plans being already prepared. They are also building a good accommodation house. Full particulars of the new service will be announced at a later date. The firm intends to develop a general carrying business in conjunction with a receiving and forwarding agency and general land and commission business. They further contemplate opening a general store. A resident of Auckland has just completed the manufacture of a flying machine on the lines of that ef M. Bleriot, the eminent French aviator. Another Aucklander has only a little to do to finish his machine, which is a bi-plane. Two other aeroplanes are in course of construction in the northern city, and good progress is reported in each case. No home should be without the new Roslyn writing pad (copyrighted).
