BARTON BROS.' CIRCUS.

Messrs Barton Eros.'huge combined shows —circus and Olympia hippodrome —will appear in Te Kutii on Thursday, 26th January, for positively one night only. During the past few days the advance managers, Messrs Bradley and Sullivan, and their staff of assistants, have been making arrangements for a grand performance here, and the amusement-loving public are sure to be catered for on a lavish scale. This huge combination, which come 3 along with excellent credentials, has been thoroughly reorganised and enlarged since their last visit to the Dominion. From the programme we have seen, the show promise to be an exceptionallygood one, and patrons may look forward to the most up-to-date circus performance now touring. There arc 00 performing horses, donkeys, ponies, and mules, and all in the pink of condition. There arc also 30 star artists, including six of the funniest clowns one could wish to see, and four dummies of exceptional merit. The artists include Miss Mena Val, trick cyclist and wire walker; also the only lady stock and bullock whip cracker in Australia, using various whips varying in size and weight from the ordinary whip to Henderson's monster stockwhip, measuring GO feet, and weighing loi'ibs, the Alton trio, late cf Sanger's Circus (of England), acrobats, ground and lofty tumblers; Madame Barton, a daring and fearless lady bare-back rider; Little Lindsay, the child wonder, also the funniest and youngest dummy in the colonies; Master Key Barton, the world's champion jockey rider; Jack West, a marvellous hand balancer. The management have oft'erd £SO to anyone that can ride the famous outlaw, Sandfly, in a poley saddle. Sandfly is claimed to be unridden, and nobody is barred from taking part. Black Albert, the Mulga Black, for whom the proprietors had to pay a bond of £IOO, is a perfect marvel on horesback. He can,, it is said, ride any animal that has hoofs. Other buckjumpers are Tommy Burns, Danzer. Snowflake, Cabbity, Barney, the African mule, Mickey, and others. The circus performed for 15 nights and gave seven matinees in Auckland during Christmas. Popular prices will prevail at 3s and 2s, children under 10 half price.
