Waitawhena.
A meeting of settlers of the YVaitawhena riding of the Obura County was held in Mr McGinlay's whare on July 31st, to consider the action of the chairman of the Ohura County Council in taking exception to the proposals for the expenditure of "thirds" as tabled by Cr Risk at the last meeting of the council. Mr Risk and Mr Stevenson (chairman of the council) were present, Mr Esdaile being in the chair. Aftn- hearing Cr Risk's explanation of what took place at the council meeting, the following resolution, proposed by Messrs Kibblewhite and McGinlay, was carried unanimously"That this meeting of settlers of the Waitawhe-a riding records a vote of confidence in Cr Risk for his conduct of the affairs of this riding and no confidence in the chairman of the Ohura County Council cor unduly interfering in the affairs of Waitawhena riding."
